Why DRS?

First off, we’re guitar builders. DRS is the result of Doug Kauer’s need for storage of his own instruments at Kauer Guitars headquarters. The thing is, Doug is really into building offsets and almost everyone other solution just doesn’t work when you build asymmetric guitars. Years of personal use and customer suggestions have helped grow the amount of products we offer.

Modularity is king.

It’s good to be King. Start singular and expand later or go big right from the get go. We’ve got options for you.

A rack for everyone

We offer our entire catalog in two tiers:

DRS Black - our more affordable series in black laminated baltic birch ply. We leave a sanded but natural edge saving you on finishing (and allowing you some DIY stain options if you roll that way). We think it looks great, durable and scratch resistant.

Our OG line is our premium line. Made from Bamboo which is both environmentally sustainable, beautiful and fully lacquered. We absolutely love the Bamboo and compliments every room it’s in.

Its all about that lean

Remember how we mentioned we’re offset fanatics at Casa da Kauer? This is why it matters. When you look at a lot of other racks the guitars sit straight up. That is the least stable way to store your instrument and its why so many other products depend on straps or simply do not work for Offsets and other less traditional shapes.

Our base pads are also drilled off center so you can open or close the distance between the two base pads (Click me to see what that matters).

This is one of the many reasons why we think we have the most stable, well thought out system out there.

Face off

Our racks are designed with the neck rests biased to one side to maximize the room behind the neck. Want your guitars facing left? Just install it left biased. Want them right? Guess what, the padding sits right in the middle so you can flip it around. Smart.

Finish Safe

Here’s the deal. Finish reactions are the number one fear for any of us and we would never put a product on our racks we didn’t feel comfortable putting our prized possessions on. There’s hundreds of formulations of finishes over the 100+ year history of instrument making so we can’t guarantee everything but we’ve never had a reaction yet.

Look at that face

It might be a face for radio but that flannel says “were serious about building guitars”. In all seriousness, we really appreciate your support. These racks are made here in the same shop by a lot of the same people we make our guitars in here in Elk Grove, California.
